Details:

Saturday night offers a matchup between two of the hottest teams in the league as the Brooklyn Nets are hosting the Phoenix Suns.

The Nets are at the top of the Eastern Conference having won the last four games. After winning on the road against Cleveland and Boston, Steve Nash’s team is opening a four-game homestand with the game against last year’s Western Conference champions.

The Nets are 6-3 on their home court. Brooklyn ranks ninth in the NBA giving up only 104.9 points per game while holding opponents to 42.5% shooting.

Kevin Durant is playing a MVP caliber season averaging second-best in the league 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the Nets. James Harden has picked up his form recently and is now at 23.5 points over the last 10 games for Brooklyn.

The Nets are coming off a 123-104 win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday and had two days off to prepare for the Suns.

Kevin Durant had a historic night against the Celtics scoring 21 for the Nets and surpassing Allen Iverson at the 25th spot on the all-time scoring list.

Patty Mills scored 23, and James Harden had 20 points and 11 assists for Brooklyn. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points with nine rebounds off the bench for the Nets, who have won seven out of eight and 12 of their last 14 games.

If Nets’ winning streak looks impressive then what to say about the Suns’ 15 wins in a row?

In last night’s 118-97 win over the New York Knicks, Devin Booker scored 32 points for the Suns to match the second-longest winning streak in franchise history. Booker was 14 for 27 from the field, making four 3-pointers.

Chris Paul had 14 points and 10 assists for the Suns, who improved to 16-3 and will try to wrap up a perfect four-game trip against the Eastern Conference leaders. Deandre Ayton finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Phoenix also won 15 straight during the 2006-07 season led by today’s Nets’ coach Steve Nash. The Suns won a franchise-best 17 in a row later that season.

Key facts

  • Phoenix has won the last 15 games
  • Brooklyn has won the last four games
  • Brooklyn has won six of the last seven games against Phoenix
  • Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris and Nicolas Claxon are out for Brooklyn tonight
  • Dario Saric and Frank Kaminsky are out for Phoenix

This might be an epic showdown between two of the best scorers in today’s game – Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

The Nets have been great lately but the fact is that they haven’t been challenged by a team like the Suns. Phoenix has been perfect so far in November which makes them favorites to win in Brooklyn. Still, just in case we suggest betting on +5.5 points spread for the Suns.
