Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions Predictions

The game moves to Metricon Stadium as Jack Riewoldt celebrates his 300th AFL appearance. I'm predicting there are going to be no winning milestone for the Tigers forward with a fifth straight loss predicted for the reigning premiers.

  • Richmond Tigers have lost their last 4 matches.
  • Brisbane Lions have won their last 2 matches against Richmond Tigers.
  • Brisbane Lions won 102-74 when the edges met in Round 10 this season.
  • Brisbane Lions have won 3 of their last 4 matches, and 10 of their last 12 matches.

Head to go

Having lost 15 during a row to the Tigers, Brisbane have won the last two clashes between the edges .

The Lions beat Richmond 69-54 within the first week of the finals last year, and repeated the victory with a 102-74 success in Round 10 this season.

Richmond Tigers Form

The reigning premiers are during a batch of strife after losing four during a row and throwing in the towel of the highest eight spots on the ladder.

Damien Hardwick's side are poor over the last month, starting when losing within the final minute against West Coast Eagles thanks to an excellent Josh Kennedy basketball shot .

Richmond then went down by 40 points to St Kilda, scoring just 22 points during a 62-22 defeat, and lost by 10 points to Gold Coast Suns.

Last week, Richmond capitulated within the final quarter of an 87-71 defeat to Collingwood as they were outscored seven goals to at least one within the final term.

Richmond Tigers Team News

Richmond is boosted by the return of Toby Nankervis and Kane Lambert from injuries. The Tigers have also handed a debut to Matthew Parker with the ex-St Kilda star named on the interchange.

Jack Ross, Patrick Naish, Riley Collier-Dawkins, and Thomson Dow are all overlooked.

Brisbane Lions Form

Brisbane Lions suffered just their second defeat within the last 12 matches when suffering 95-63 upset at the hands of Metricon Stadium last weekend.

It was a poor display from the Lions, who were hampered by the loss of forward Eric Hipwood to a season-ending ACL injury.

Craig Fagan's side had won three straight before last week. A hard-fought 68-54 convert North Melbourne was followed by wide-margin victories over Geelong Cats (94-50) and Adelaide Crows (111-59).

Brisbane Lions Team News

The Lions have lost Eric Hipwood and Marcus Adams to injuries. The ax has also fallen on Callum Ah Chee and Rhys Mathieson.

Jaxon Prior, Ryan Lester, and Tom Fullarton and recalled into the Brisbane side.

Brisbane Lions Team List

B: Madden, Andrews, Lester
HB: Rich, Birchall, Starcevich
C: McCluggage, Neale, Robinson
HF: Zorko, McStay, McCarthy
F: Coleman, Daniher, Cameron
FOL: McInerney, Lyons, Bailey
I/C: Robertson, Prior, Fullarton, Payne
EMG: Cockatoo, Berry, Mathieson, McFadyen

my AFL prediction is:
Brisbane has struggled against Richmond in Melbourne. the very fact this game has been moved to the Gold Coast is going to be welcome for the Lions, who are tipped to win by over 20 points.
