Details:

Many doubted how the Los Angeles Clippers will look alike without their superstar Kawhi Leonard but Paul George and the rest of the team showed that they will still be contenders in the West. Tyrone Lue’s team is currently sixth in the West with an 11-10 record. George ranks sixth in the league scoring 25.9 points per game.

At one point, the Clippers had seven straight wins but at the moment they have lost six of their last nine games with the last two at home against the Golden State Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Nicolas Batum and Marcus Morris were not in the lineup in a 123-104 home loss to the Pelicans.

Paul George led the team with 27 points followed by Reggie Jackson with 19. The Clippers shot a solid 51.4% from the field but they couldn’t stop Jonas Valanciunas who went on a career night scoring 39 points with 7-of-8 from the three-point line.

The Clippers rank third in the Western Conference in team defense, giving up only 103.6 points while holding opponents to 43.4% shooting which wasn’t the case against New Orleans.

The Sacramento Kings are at 8-14 which many sees as an even better record than expected.

After losing eight of nine games, the Kings went on back-to-back wins against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Lakers but dropped the next two, the last one 117-92 to the Lakers.

The Kings led by nine at halftime but the visitors won the third 37-15. Sacramento missed 17 of 18 shots from the field during a stretch that lasted into the fourth quarter.

Richaun Holmes scored 27 points on 12-for-13 shooting in his first game back after missing three with an illness. De'Aaron Fox added 17 but also had seven turnovers.

Key facts

  • Nicolas Batum and Marcus Morris are out for the Clippers
  • Harrison Barnes is out for the Kings
  • Sacramento has won the last five at the Staples Center against the Clippers

This one seems like an easy choice before you take a look at the head-to-head section which says that the Kings have won the last five visiting the Clippers. Nine of the last ten games between these two were won by the visiting team.

The Clippers looked pretty bad in their last two home losses and again will be without Batum and Morris. Kings’ second-best scorer Harrison Barnes will miss his third straight game which will be felt on both ends of the floor.

It will be a close game and a +9.5 bet at 1.65 on the Kings seems like the best choice.
